34°South, a funky Bondi cafe/restaurant, offering cuisine with an Italian flair and an underground bar and music venue to boot.
Toot Toot Design was asked to create a brand for 34°South. The venue was super cool, recently refurbished in black, white and beech and located in the relaxed beachside setting of Bondi. The identity had be casual and inviting, appropriate for the coastal setting and welcoming to passing trade. White on black was an early direction provided by the clients. A mono palette fitted well with both the interior decoration and hip music venue and bar downstairs from the main eatery.
Hand script and wood-cut typography styles were combined to encompass the cosy, comfortable vibe of the space and locale. An equally simple, explicit tagline “Food Drink Music” reinforced everything about the mood and brand.
Toot Toot Design created, produced and installed all venue signage. Along with business cards, menu templates, flyers and a temporary webpage.
